This time all of his songs including the title track `Nenjile' and Olanjalikkuruvi. Gopi Sundar once again scores big time with his BG'scores. Add to that the brilliant camera work by Pradeesh Varma and editing by Manoj, which takes the movie much about the regular terrain of similar sports based flicks. The brainy techniques used for the time lapses and meticulousness with which the time period is depicted also will vouch for the bright film maker in this debutante, who delivers a perfect shot even in the pacing of the movie. The messages are not preachy and comes natural that adds to that feel good mood of the movie. Abrid Shine's story and the script (cowritten by Bipin Chandran) fit perfectly on the grammar of commercial cinema. The dialogues are simple, appealing and realistic just like the muddy terrains where the lads play all the day. When it combines with the inherent honesty of storytelling and pitching the name of Sachin in every possible scene, `1983' graduates to become one of the fine films of the recent times. The movie works heavily on the nostalgia that every cricket lover carries in his heart. Later we find him as a middle aged man, who is now the father of a ten year old, quite astonished to see his son handling the heavy bat just like a feather. Even when stooped down to a third class in S S L Cand even when he failed in P D C or even when his long time sweetheart walked away with an American husband, Rameshan did survive the heat due to his passion for the game and his friends.

The fine student in him who aspired to be an engineer, very soon gets infected with cricket fever, ever ready to carry the bat for his local team and friends. Nivin Pauly is Rameshan in the film who gets glued to the magic of cricket, ever since he watched the winning ways of India since 1983 world cup. He also uses the brand of Sachin Tendulkar in a parallel track so successfully that anything that is related to this great legend cannot be an unlikeable one. Debutante filmmaker Abrid Shine while embarking on a subject just needed to put the heart at the right place, which he does with finesse making this `1983' a real tribute to cricket and classy cinema. 1983 is available for rental on Amazon Video. In a country where cricket is the biggest religion, it is a safe bet to make one on its spirit and nostalgia. Sometimes cricket games are filmed in Indian films expecting you to know what is happening, but here I could tell Nivin was good and the way the games were shot highlighted that. It wasn’t confusing to me as it sometimes is. 1983 is beautifully shot, and even though I’m a no-nothing with cricket, I could follow the exciting parts of the cricket games. But it’s still an enjoyable watch, and Nivin Pauly, as usual is great. It’s not a surprise that this is the debut feature of the director, fashion photographer Abrid Shine. This movie has the leisurely pace of Malayalam films. They don’t have a grand passion, but they work together as a couple. She supports him and stands up for him with his parents. I also liked his relationship with his wife. I don’t think I’ve ever seen Nivin Pauly play a father, and that was some of my favorite parts of the film. They take a bus hours away every weekend to the next big town to try for a spot in a sports school. To the disgust of Nivin’s father, who still thinks cricket is a waste of time, Nivin seeks out coaching for his son. In the second half, Nivin still plays club cricket with his old pals, and sees the glimmer of talent in his son. He marries another girl in an arranged marriage, and horrors, she doesn’t even recognize a picture of Sachin! But she’s good in school and moves on to university, while he is left behind in the village working for his father. Nivin hits a girl in the head with an errant cricket ball, and has a wonderful childhood romance. They sneak away from chores and skip homework and studying for tests to play cricket together.
1983 MALAYALAM MOVIE COMEDY SACHIN TV
There’s one TV in their small Kerala village and he and his friends are forever changed by India winning its first Cricket World Cup in 1983. The first half of the film shows us Rameshan (Nivin Pauly) as a child obsessed by cricket. I also don’t know anything about cricket, but that is no hindrance in watching Nivin Pauly’s love of the game.

I’m not a huge sports movie fan, but 1983 was touching and enjoyable.
